With 2024 winding down, it’s time to begin thinking about the fun plans we’ll make happen in 2025. If you, like virtually everyone else, have been amazed by how fast this year has flown by, then you’ll be more eager than ever to get out into the world and make some lifelong memories.

Happily, the world is more than happy to accommodate. There are adventurous destinations just waiting to be explored in all corners of the globe, from the southern tip of Southern America to the beautiful American Southwest. Let's run through some of our favorite ideas for the forthcoming year below. Happy exploring!

Queenstown, New Zealand

Queenstown is known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, but really, that doesn’t quite do it justice. You could easily make the argument that this is the adventure capital of the world. Some of the things to do here are:

Skydiving
Bungee jumping
River surfing
Quad biking

As you can see, Queenstown is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. The city also has an outstanding food scene, which makes it all the more appealing. And let's not forget New Zealand is home to the Lord of the Rings films - there's so much to explore here.

Arizona adventures

There’s no shortage of great adventure destinations in the United States. From the wild forests of the Pacific Northwest to the expansive outdoor playground that is Alaska, there’s adventure in all parts of the country.

But he Southwest area, particularly Arizona, is the natural highlight of the United States. From exploring Antelope Canyon to hiking in the Grand Canyon or Zion National Park, this part of the country is a never-ending feast for people who love the outdoors. Throw in the fact that it’s easy to get to, and there’s no excuse not to plan a trip. So many of our National Parks are in this region, so there's tons to see.

Patagonia explorations

Looking to get away from it all? You can’t beat — or go much further — than Patagonia. This region encompasses the southern part of South America, straddling both Argentina and Chile, and offers some of the most fantastic scenery you’ll find anywhere on the planet. There's a reason the outdoor brand is name Patagonia, am I right?

It’s much more remote than other areas included in this article, and alas, typically much more expensive. But if you can get there, you’ll have an experience that’s essentially unmatched on this earth of ours.

Skiing in Switzerland

Looking to blend adventure with luxury? Then you can’t go wrong with a skiing getaway in Switzerland. While there are plenty of awesome skiing destinations around the world, there are none that can match the grandeur of the Swiss resorts. If you’re looking for the classic Swiss skiing experience, then pay a visit to St. Moritz, a ski resort that’s said to be “on top of the world.” There you’ll find some of the best skiing conditions in the world and a host of world-class hotels, restaurants, and spas. Don’t feel like skiing? You can always just swing by to admire the views.

Of the places on this list, I've only ever visited Arizona, primarily the cityscape of Phoenix, but there's so much world out there waiting to be visited, and I can't wait.
