I've always been one to choose comfort over fashion, but being comfortable doesn't have to mean not being cute and having fun with fashion. When I first started working from home, I was straight waking up and going immediately to work in my pajamas. At that point, I wasn't having a lot of meetings or appointments - it was mostly working on more processes - so I was able to just be a complete mess and that was fine.

But one day, I woke up and got dressed (mind you, nothing fancy, but I got out of my pajamas), and it honestly changed how I was working. I don't know how, but it put me in a different mindset and my productivity actually increased.

I still wear comfy clothes, but for the most part, I could actually wear these clothes out of the house and (probably) into the office.

Here's a week's worth of my quarantine wardrobe WFH essentials.

I usually wash my hair on Sundays, so Monday is when it looks the best. I typically just throw it back into a loose and messy braid, complete with scrunchie, and it somehow always looks good on Zoom.

This Monday outfit is just as comfy as pajamas, but this is definitely something I would wear into the office. I love the look of this crop top from Universal Standard with the high-waisted palazzo pants, and I throw on some fuzzy slippers for good measure.

I don't know about you, but I basically live in bike shorts now. These from Girlfriend Collective are truly the most comfortable shorts I own, and I can't even tell you how often I wear them. I have a ton of sets from Girlfriend Collective (they're incredibly size-inclusive!), and they recently added bike shorts with pockets to the roster.

I pair these shorts with pretty much anything, but a go to is a good striped tee, a cardigan, and comfy socks.

Oh, hump day. It's always such an exhausting day - too far away from the weekend in either direction. That doesn't mean it has to be exhausting to get dressed. This is another outfit that would be easy-peasy to wear into the office. I paired a work polo (which is weirdly soft and comfortable) with a pair of ponte pants, which are wonderful because they're basically just thick leggings that are acceptable as pants.

We're getting closer to the weekend, which means comfort level is increasing more and more. This dress is the ultimate comfortable casual dress - it's absolutely gorgeous and is perfect to dress up, but also just feels like straight water on my skin. It's lightweight and thin, and has the most flattering cut. But it's basically a nightgown. And it takes exactly zero effort alongside a high pony with a printed scrunchie. I often pair it with black leggings and socks if I'm feeling a little chilly.

Friday

And for lazy Friday when it feels nearly impossible to do anything more, I pair a flutter sleeve tee with a pair of leggings and a stretchy headband.

What's your WFH style been like lately? How has it changes from your previous style?

  1. Love that you did this roundup! My "uniform" is basically the same every single day - namely because I've been working out for at least 90 minutes a day every day (sometimes just yoga or long walks, but still), which means I'm always, always, always in leggings. Every day is 3/4-length leggings (my faves are the ones from Girlfriend with pockets!) & then a sports bra & either a tank top or T-shirt, & either flip-flops or sneakers. Evvvvery day. Ha.

    1. I wear my Girlfriend bike shorts A LOT. I just ordered their new bike shorts with pockets and I am pumped to get them. I love that you workout every day. I wish I wasn't so lazy, lol.

  2. Love this, Kayla! I MUST dress for work or I would go insane. I generally have either a solid black, blue or gray pant paired up with a nice button down or nice, dressier tee. Dressing for work absolutely changes your mindset!
