Hubby and I have often talked about going to Disney World. We've been to Universal, and to this day it's still one of the best weeks of my entire life. Disney World (or other theme parks) can be really great options for a romantic vacation and it’s not hard to understand why. After all, the fireworks displays are said to be absolutely magical and the park's filled with a wealth of world-class restaurants. However, to get the most from the location, guests should also explore roads less-traveled. There are lots of experiences in and around the Florida Disney parks that many might not be aware of.
Fishing Trips
For those interested in relaxing on the water while trying to catch some fish, then a fishing trip could be an option at Disney World. There are several marinas around the area where fishing can be arranged and folks can even hire their own boats. It's certainly a different experience from wandering around the parks all day. And to make sure you're prepared with the right kit, there are lots of great resources like Tailored Tackle to help make sure you're on the right track.
Themed Restaurants
Eating is one my very favorite things about traveling. There are a wide variety of awesome themed restaurants in Disney parks that are sure to be different and unique than the everyday food folks eat at home. The best themed restaurants for adults are located in Epcot and some of the hotels like the Caribbean beach resort. For those who love seafood, there’s a full seafood restaurant that is designed to make diners feel like they're under the ocean. Later this year, there will also be a brand new restaurant that will make it feel like you're miles above the world in space, too (and hello, I love space!)! Be aware that these tend to be as popular as some of the rides so it’s important tobook reservations as early as possible, sometimes up to six months before travel.
Horse Drawn Carriage
To feel like a true princess in Disney, you may want to consider booking a horse-drawn carriage ride. There are places around Disney where it's a possibility and you’ll be welcomed to an unforgettable tour of a beautiful landscape. The rides are about an hour long and while quite expensive they are said to be truly magical. Other romantic options include a private boat to watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.
A Spa Day
Alternatively, Disney World is also home to world-class spas. The spas can be filled with stressed-out parents but it’s can be such a personalized experience that you won’t even notice everyone else that's there. Disney spas offer massage treatments and all the latest therapeutic techniques to ensure that guests feel completely relaxed. One day in the spa and the hustle and bustle of the theme parks themselves will be no problem.
One day, we'll definitely book a trip to Disney (and we'll likely end up back at Universal, too, just down the road - because I cannot resist the Wizarding World of Harry Potter). As someone who's never been to Disney, I'd love to hear more about some of the ins and outs of the parks, and what your biggest recommendations are.
Tell me all about your Disney experiences.
