I love Valentine's Day. I think it's so sweet and fun. And yes, I know - the "holiday" we celebrate today was mostly a ruse put in place by Hallmark, but I truly don't give a hoot. I love the hearts and pink and all the "girly" things. I love to dressed themed for basically any holiday, so here are five looks for those V-Day festivities.

Look 1
Business Casual

Slacks and a peplum sweater in neutrals with a fun pop of color.

I'm really into knotted headbands, but it can be tough these days to find just normal headbands (the ones that wrap around my entire head never stay in place). And I love the monochromatic look with my favorite library card socks and Old-Skool Vans. I also chose to go fairly natural for this look with just a light BB cream and a lip stain.

Look 2
Boho Chic

Velvet romper with fringed sweater paired with clogs and golden accents.

I loved this look because it feels so Janis. I've worn this romper to a formal event, as well, so this outfit would be great for a variety of festivities. Once again, I chose a pretty natural makeup routine with light foundation, top lash only mascara and a darker matte lipstick to match with the rest of the look.

Look 3
90s Edge

Velvet mock neck tank top paired with velvet pleated midi complete with oversized denim jacket, vintage whistle necklace, and chunky booties.

This one may be my favorite look of the entire bunch. I felt the most natural in this look and honestly just felt like such a badass out and about wearing it. I really love the different textures for this look, and I think it's perfect for a date night.

Look 4
Sandra Dee

Retro-style midi dress with silk bomber jacket and dressy sneakers.

I love this look because it's very Sandy meets the Pink Ladies. I also like the mostly black-n-white with a bright lippy.

Look 5
70s Dream

Button-fly jeans with a satin camisole, accented duster, and pops of animal print.

With further classic movie inspiration, this look really reminds me of Jenny in Forrest Gump when he finds her in the city coked out of her mind. Not what I was necessarily going for, but what I thought of after I saw the pictures nonetheless.

  6. Library card socks?! That's awesome! Also, I love knotted headbands but they always give me a headache. But really anything I wear on my head gives me a headache. I absolutely love the romper in look 2, the skirt in look 3, and the duster from look 5. Plus look 4 just has a total 50s vibe that I'm digging. Seriously all of these outfits are gold!

    1. The library card socks are my FAVORITE - I have them in yellow and blue. Lol. I also have problems with headbands, but I love them. So it takes some trying to find ones that work well for me (this one is one of them!).
