I have grown up listening to great classics with my dad, and ABBA was one of the groups I always enjoyed singing along to. While I never saw a ton of plays growing up, Mamma Mia was made into a film when I was in high school and I absolutely loved it. So, when I saw that the Broadway play would be touring one final time, I knew it was something I had to see live. And I am so glad I did.

The play was spot on. It was funny, and a little dramatic, and most of all - fun!

While Lizzie Markson, who played in the lead role of Sophie, did not overly impress me, I was blown away by Betsy Padamonsky's performance as Donna. She did not miss a single note. I was also really blown away by the performances of Cashelle Butler (Tanya) and Sarah Smith (Rosie), who stole the show with their hilarious antics. Another special shout-out goes to the ensemble - specifically those who were Sky's friends. They were hilarious and really got the entire audience riled up and laughing. It was wonderful.

To touch on why I wasn't too impressed with Ms. Markson - I felt she was very pitchy at times, and at times sharp. Her voice is nice, but I didn't feel like she had great control over her voice throughout the play (which could be blamed on nerves). I also noticed some technical issues, what with mics being too loud or the crossing of wires perhaps.

I also very much enjoyed the color schemes throughout the show, which were focused a lot on cool colors (blues) and neutrals (tan, beige), however the final scene switched to warmer tones with pinks and oranges. It was very fun to see the costume designs and styles.

I'd say my three favorite numbers were "Dancing Queen," "Does Your Mother Know," and "Take a Chance On Me." The performances were really A+ in those. I'd also say that "The Winner Takes It All" was perfectly precise and beautiful, again, thanks to the performance of Padamonsky. That voice, I'm telling y'all.

To close out the show, the cast put on a mini-concert which was awesome to sing along and dance with some of my favorite ABBA songs. It was truly a delight!

Since this is the Farewell Tour, I would 100% recommend going to see it before it's gone. It's at the Fox Theater in Atlanta through this Sunday, but check here to see when it's coming near your city!
