I finally convinced Andre to help me put up the tree this past weekend, and I am super excited about it. Our house is pretty tiny, so it's a struggle finding somewhere to put the tree and other decorations, since everything already has its own little space within the house. BUT we figured it out. We don't have a fireplace/mantle or space to create one for the holidays, so stockings are hung on the wall, and everything else just kind of finds its place elsewhere.

One of my favorite things this year is the ornament I made from pieces of our invitations, programs, and leftover moss from the wedding. It was (of course) a Pinterest project I found, and it wasn't too difficult to do. I ordered a plastic globe ornament from ebay for like 75 cents, cut the invitations and programs into strips and just kind of stuffed it all into the ornament. The biggest struggle is the globe I ordered is two halves, so it was hard to get everything inside without losing anything, but I was able to accomplish it. I used burgundy embroidery thread leftover from invitations to loop into the hole of the ornament, and voila. I did it.

You could really use the ornament idea for any type of sentiment or memory you'd like (wedding, honeymoon, baby, vacation, etc.), and also spiffy up your ornament using ribbons and such, but I kept it pretty simple. I would love to create these through the years for our (one day) huge family tree. That's the American dream, right?

Keep an eye out for a full decor post!
